Dear Neighbor, The purpose of this site is to improve the dialogue between the Home Owners and The Resort at Eagle Mountain Lake Homeowners Association, Inc. (The Home Owners Association) In simple terms, you are a homeowner, or a prospective home buyer, and the developer is the Home Owners Association. And while this is an oversimplification of an important concept, it is essential that you understand the relationship defining these two very different interests. Furthermore you should understand how your community is governed so that you can have realistic expectations about your experience here. If you have taken time to read the Bylaws and Covenants describing The Homeowners Association, you may be surprised to learn that in practical terms we have very limited legal authority to change policy or procedures in matters that affect our lives here in The Resort. This will be the case until complete build out, many years from now. In fairness to the developers of The Resort on Eagle Mountain Lake, you should consider the millions of dollars that are invested in such an undertaking, and the necessity of having control over how the project evolves and is managed. They are genuinely interested in managing this development in a manner that keeps you happy, increases the value of your home investment, and creates good will in the community – as all of these things contribute to the sale of lots. At the Annual Homeowners meeting held on May 23, 2007, we were given official sanction to use this Website to communicate with you the homeowners. This approval was conditioned upon the Home Owners Association “having control” of the website so that one individual would not use the site for personal reasons. Accordingly, we will attempt to be very thorough, accurate, and objective in presenting information here and solicit input from the development and managment team. The key stakeholders of our community will all have a voice; and for the first time that will include you, the homeowner. Please be patient with us as we organize the content, processes, and methods of gathering your input. Thank you for stopping by David Walker 2101 Portwood Way
